Grinberg Ruslan Semenovich, (1946) is an outstanding economist, who made an impressive scientific career in Russia. He graduated Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1968 with MA degree in Foreign Economics. In 1975 he was awarded a PhD degree at Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy. From 1972 until 1981 he worked at the Research Institute of Price Formation supervised by the USSR State Committee on Prices (Goskomtsen). Since 1981 he has been working at the Institute of International Economic and Political Studies of Russian Science Academy (IMEPI RAN) (currently – Institute of Economics of Russian Science Academy). In 1996 he obtained a Habilitation degree (thesis title: Inflation in Post-Socialist Countries), in 1996 he became a professor, and in 2006 – a corresponding member of Russian Science Academy. In 2003, he became a Director of the Institute of International Economic and Political Studies RAS, from 2005 to 2015 – director of Institute of Economics RAS, since 2015 - Academic Supervisor of Institute of Economics RAS.
R.S. Grinberg has developed critically important scientific knowledge concerning economic theory, economic globalization, economic and political issues in former socialist countries, role of a state in modern economics. R.S. Grinberg impressive research record includes more than 400 works, among them 35 monographs and 8 authoring scientific papers. R.S. Grinberg’s works were published in different countries, including England, Poland, Austria, USA, Germany and others.
Among his recent books is a monograph titled “Economic Sociodynamics” (co-authored with A.Y. Rubinstein). This monograph presents a new concept which is a completely new development in economic theory. It was published in 2000 in Russia, and then in 2005 it was translated into English and published by Springer Publishing in USA and Germany, 2010 - the second Edition.
In addition to this, R.S. Grinberg is recognized for outstanding achievements as a lecturer at institutes for higher education.

Laureate of the Prize of the World Association for Political Economy, «For the contribution to the development of the economic theory» (Shanghai (PRC), 2013 ), Laureate of the Prize of the Polish Economic Society «For the development of the Theory of Economic Sociodynamics» (Warsaw, 2013), Laureate of the Prize of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine «For the development of the Concept of Economic Sociodynamics» (Kiev, 2013); was awarded with Saint Petersburg state University diploma for “contribution to economic science advancement” (Saint-Peterburg, 24th of April 2014); He was awarded the diploma of the French Society of Macroeconomic Research and International Finance (CEMAFI) «For the contribution to the development of the theory of modern economics and social dynamics» (Nice, France, May 6, 2014 ), was awarded with diploma of The International Foundation for Socio-Economic and Political Studies (The Gorbachev Foundation) “For humanism and social orientation in economic studies” (Moscow, 16th of July 2014) was awarded with Honorary diploma of Russian Liberal economic society for outstanding contribution to economic science advancement (Moscow, 15th of October 2014). In 2015 R. Grinberg was awarded with prize named after M.V. Lomonosov for publication cycle regarding creating original theoretic conception “Economic sociodynamics” (Moscow, 20th of January 2015), awarded the scientific prize for a cycle of works on the economic theory of the modern state by The Italian Institute for Political, Economic and Social Studies EURISPES (Rome, October 2016).
In March 2011, R.S. Grinberg received a commendation from the Government of the Russian Federation for his contribution to the development of economic science and for many years of scientific endeavor.
