Born in Moscow in 1984.
Awarded a bachelor's degree (2005) and a master's degree (2007) at the Faculty of Geography, the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Department of Geography of World Economy). Graduated with honors.
In 2010 defended the PhD thesis at the Faculty of Geography, the Lomonosov Moscow State University (specialty 25.00.24 — "Economic, social, political and recreational geography"). PhD thesis topic: "Transformation of spatial and branch structure of industry of post-socialist Central-Eastern European Countries" (under the supervision of Prof. Dr. E. B. Valev, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation).
Senior research assistant (2004—2008) at the Sub-center "Central and South-Eastern Europe", Institute for Foreign Economic and Political Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2005 — Institute of Economics, RAS). Research fellow (2008—2011), senior research fellow (2011—2020). Since 2020 — leading research fellow at the Center for Eastern European studies, Institute of Economics, RAS.
Since 2017 — docent at the Department for General Economics Theory, Moscow School of Economics, the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Author of the courses "Economic Geography", "Strategic Aspects of Regional Economics" (both in Russian), and "Regional Economics" (in English). Taught at the Faculty of Philosophy (the MSU), at MGIMO University, The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), as well as in Republic of Serbia.
Deputy Director of the MSU Branch in Koper, Republic of Slovenia (in 2017—2020).
Fields of research: problems of socio-economic and political development of Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, evolution of the world economy, regional economics and regional economic policy in Russia and abroad, the EU enlargement and processes of integration in Eurasia, functional and territorial organization of industry and agriculture, varieties of capitalist relations, development of trade and investment relationships between Russia, CIS and Eastern European countries, complex country studies (with the focus on the Balkan countries).
Author and co-author of about 100 scientific publications. 59 articles in Russian and international journals, including more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals from the Higher Attestation Commission list (Journal of the New Economic Association; Society and Economy; Economic Policy; World Economy and International Relations; Economics of Contemporary Russia; St Petersburg University Journal of Economic Studies (Vestnik SPbSU); Bulletin of the Financial University; Contemporary Europe, etc.), 14 articles — in journals included in RSCI on the Web of Science platform, and two articles — in international journals covered by Scopus and Web of Science.
Author of study guide «Regional economics», as well as chapters in over 30 collective monographs, including those published by the Institute of Economics, RAS. In 2006-2016 published more than 80 articles on countries and cities of Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe in the Great Russian Encyclopedia (GRE). Member of editorial board and/or reviewer for 10 Russian and international collections of research papers and monographs.
Organized and coordinated panel discussions during scientific events in Russia and abroad. Presented papers at 34 international conferences in Russia, Germany, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and other countries.
