Mikhail Golovnin - Director of the Institute of Economics of RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS

Mikhail Yurievich Golovnin (born in 1978) is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (BA - 1998, MA - 2000); Doctor of Science (Economics, 2011); Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2016).

Spheres of research interests - international macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial globalization, regional economic integration. Published more than 160 scientific works, mainly on the international monetary and financial system, external shocks affecting the Russian economy, monetary policies of Russia and Central and Eastern European countries in the context of financial globalization, and monetary and financial integration on the post-Soviet space. Among the most important works are: Development of the Monetary Sphere During Transformation: Russia and Central and Eastern European Countries (Moscow, 2009); Interaction Between Financial Systems of the CIS countries (Saint-Petersburg, 2010; author and editor-in-chief); Strategy and Tactics in the Monetary Policies of Russia and Ukraine and the World Economic Crisis (Moscow, 2010; author and editor-in-chief); Monetary Policies of Russia and Ukraine in Times of Global Financial Turmoil (Saint-Petersburg, 2011; author and editor-in-chief); Integration-Related Processes and Projects in Russia's Neighborhood (Moscow, 2013; author and editor-in-chief); External Shocks Affecting Economies and Monetary Systems of Russia and Belarus: Implications and Solutions (Moscow, 2014; author and editor-in-chief); Monetary Systems of Russia and Belarus at the Time of Global Financial Instability (Moscow, IE RAS, 2016; author and editor-in-chief).

Winner of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for young PhD scientists and their research advisors (2006-2007), winner of the competition organized by the Foundation for National Science Support (nomination "Best economists of the RAS") in 2004, 2005 and in 2008. Laureate of the All-Russian Higher Public Economic Award "Economist of the Year" in 2017 as one of the authors of the program for medium-term social and economic development of Russia until 2025 ("Growth Strategy"). Commendation of the President of the Russian Federation (2022).
